9 Trig Walks For Trig Baggers (Walks with Multiple Trigs)

Revidge trig point in Peak District

Lots of you are taking on our Trig Point Challenge which is brilliant. It’s lovely to see so many people exploring more areas of the beautiful Peak District and ticking trigs off along the way!

For those of you that have set yourself an additional challenge, maybe completing in a year or as quick as you can, here are some ways you can tick off multiple trigs on the same walk. As you can imagine, some of these walks are also longer in distance but more miles equals more trigs!

Alternatively, if you’re happy to take a leisurely approach to the challenge you could start with our 10 trig walks for beginners here.

  19. Revidge*
  20. Rod Moor
  21. White Path Moss (Stanage Edge)
  22. Winhill Pike*

*These trig points are also on the Ethel list too.

Please note that the Stanage Edge trigs (High Neb and White Path Moss) and Winhill Pike are duplicated on the walks (9 Edges and Edale Skyline) so depending on which order you do the walks they might not all be NEW ones.

Edale Skyline walk from Hope

Winhill Pike trig point
Winhill Pike trig point

No. of Trigs on the walk – 3 or 4

  • Winhill Pike
  • Kinder Low (optional)
  • Brown Knoll
  • Mam Tor

Here’s a brilliant long hike, (20 miles) to get you started on the trig bagging challenge, as well as ticking off an epic walk too! Our route for the Edale Skyline doesn’t go directly via Kinder Low trig point; however with a short detour you can add it into the route.

And for those of you also completing the Ethel bagging challenge there are 5 Ethels on this walk – Win Hill, Brown Knoll, Lord’s Seat (Rushup Edge), Mam Tor and Lose Hill.

Full route, map and GPX here: Edale Skyline Route | 20-Mile Route (Ultimate Peak District Challenge)

Lantern Pike + Harry Hut walk from Hayfield

Harry Hut trig point

No. of Trigs on the walk – 2

  • Harry Hut
  • Lantern Pike

If you’re looking for a slightly shorter route to begin your trig bagging challenge, this 10-mile walk from Hayfield might be perfect for you. Heading alongside Kinder Reservoir and up William Clough you soon get a good chunk of the ascent done before you can begin ticking off those trigs!

On the Ethel bagging challenge there are 3 Ethels on this walk – Mill Hill, Harry Hut and Lantern Pike

Full route, map and GPX here: Harry Hut + Lantern Pike Trig Walk From Hayfield | 10-Mile Route

Margery Hill + Outer Edge walk from Langsett

Margery Hill trig point
Margery Hill trig point

No. of Trigs on the walk – 2

  • Margery Hill
  • Outer Edge

A lovely route from Langsett Reservoir, although be warned the section of the walk to Outer Edge and the Crow Stones can be notoriously boggy so either do this walk when the ground is frozen solid in winter, or pick a hot summer’s day when the bog has dried out a bit. We didn’t say the trig challenge was easy!

Margery Hill is the only Ethel on this walk. However, if you wanted to add some extra miles (2 to be exact) then the County Top of Yorkshire – High Stones (Howden Edge) is approximately a mile further on from Margery Hill.

Full route, map and GPX here: Langsett Reservoir, Margery Hill + Outer Edge Trig From Langsett Barn | 13-Mile Route

Axe Edge + Burbage Edge

Axe Edge Moor trig point

No. of Trigs on the walk – 2

  • Burbage Edge
  • Axe Edge

On our website we have the 6-mile route detailed with the 8-mile route as an optional extended version. If you want to tick off both trigs then you’ll need to make sure you do this longer route which includes an out and back to Burbage Edge trig pillar.

This walk includes 3 Ethels on this walk, both trigs are Ethels and also Cheeks Hill, the County Top of Staffordshire, is one too.

Full route, map and GPX here: Axe Edge Moor Trig + Cheeks Hill Walk From Derbyshire Bridge | 6-Mile Route

Black Hill walk from Crowden

Flagstones leading to Trig Point at Black Hill
Holme Moss trig at Black Hill

No. of Trigs on the walk – 3

  • Featherbed Moss
  • Holme Moss (Black Hill)
  • Hey Edge

Our 11-mile route from Crowden takes in a circular loop, ticking off Featherbed Moss before walking past Laddow Rocks to Black Hill and the Holme Moss trig point. Then there’s some Peak District bog to navigate before reaching the third trig pillar on the walk, Hey Edge.

Up until recently, the Hey Edge trig point symbol wasn’t visible on the OS map App, however I’ve since spotted it. On the OL1 map it still only shows as the word pillar and no blue triangle, so be sure not to miss it out!

And for those of you also completing the Ethel bagging challenge there are 5 Ethels on this walk – Win Hill, Brown Knoll, Lord’s Seat (Rushup Edge), Mam Tor and Lose Hill.

Full route, map and GPX here: Featherbed Moss, Holme Moss (Black Hill) + Hey Edge Trig Walk From Crowden | 11-Mile Route

Stanage Edge walk from Redmires Reservoir

White Pass Moss trig point on Stanage Edge

No. of Trigs on the walk – 3 or 4

  • Rod Moor
  • Ox Stones
  • White Path Moss (Stanage Edge)
  • High Neb (Stanage Edge)

A long 13-mile route from Redmires Reservoir to include either 3 or 4 trigs on this fantastic route. Ticking off two less-known trigs with the iconic ones on Stanage Edge make this a wonderful walk.

Although there are two Ethels included on this walk, one isn’t a trig – Stanedge Pole and the other is White Path Moss (Stanage Edge). However, if you do add in High Neb trig on Stanage Edge this is also an Ethel so takes it up to three.

Full route, map and GPX here: Stanage Edge Walk From Redmires Reservoir | 13-Mile Route (Trig Walk)

Staffordshire trig walk from Warsaw

Merryton Low trig point
Blake Mere trig at Merryton Low

No. of Trigs on the walk – 3

  • Hill House
  • Blake Mere (Merryton Low)
  • Revidge

This 10-mile trig walk includes three of the Staffordshire trigs and takes you on a lovely circular route to include them all.

Two of the three trigs are also Ethels on this walk, Revidge and Blake Mere; however you’ll see this named Merryton Low on the Ethel list, just to be different :).

Full route, map and GPX here: Hill House, Blake Mere + Revidge From Warslow | 10-Mile Route (Trig Walk)

Stanton Moor + Oaker Hill from Birchover

Moor Plantations trig point at Stanton Moor
Moor Plantations trig point at Stanton Moor

No. of Trigs on the walk – 2

  • Moor Plantations (Stanton Moor)
  • Oaker Hill

This 10-mile route includes plenty of highlights as well as the two trigs to tick off too! You’ll explore Rowter Rocks, the Cork Stone and the Nine Ladies, if you’ve not heard of these then it’s a good walk to do as you’ll have some fun things to find.

Stanton Moor is the only Ethel on this walk.

Full route, map and GPX here: Stanton Moor Plantations + Oaker Hill Trig Walk from Birchover | 10-Mile Route

9 Edges Challenge walk

Trig point on rocks at Back To
Back Tor trig point on Derwent Edge

No. of Trigs on the walk – 4

  • Back Tor (Derwent Edge)
  • High Neb (Stanage Edge)
  • White Path Moss (Stanage Edge)
  • Birchen Edge

I’ve added this walk as it’s a lovely route; however it’s not overly efficient as the first three trigs are in the first half (12-miles), then the final trig Birchen Edge is at mile 23. This means there’s a big chunk in the middle with no trigs. Unless you want to detour to White Edge but adding extra miles on a long walk isn’t the best of plans!

It’s still an epic challenge walk and it does tick off 4 trigs so it’s on the list! For more Peak District challenges click here.

And for those of you also completing the Ethel bagging challenge there are 4 Ethels on this walk – Lost Lad, Back Tor, High Neb and White Path Moss, again all at the beginning of the walk.
