Fancy a different kind of challenge?

In 2019, Ben who has joined the Peak District Walks team set himself a challenge to walk to EVERY trig point in the Peak District National Park. His first challenge was to find out where they were all located and he created a spreadsheet with all the trig points on.

In total, there are 88 trig points in the Peak District, that stand within or on the National Park boundary.

You can find the full list below, with the grid references so you can see their exact location. Please note that some of the trig points are found on off-path locations and for some, you’ll need to gain permission to access the land (P).

Ben will be sharing the 30+ routes that he walked to complete the challenge and you’ll be able to find full details of the walks right here so you can complete them too!

Peak District Ethels

In 2021, The Countryside Charity created a new bagging challenge in the Peak District, known as the Ethels! You can see the list of 95 Ethels here.

Why not complete both the Trig and Ethel Challenge? If you fancy a double challenge you can combine them. Our list of 88 trigs includes 35 Ethels so by doing the Trig challenge you’re ticking off over a third of the Ethels too. Search our routes here with Trigs and Ethels included.

**Update 1 June 2021 – Soles Hill** – One of our trig baggers has asked permission for Soles Hill trig point. The farmer has advised there are ‘unfriendly’ cows with calves on the land at the moment so to please check before visiting.
