2-mile route. From near Crowden (4 km), head up the clough, over a water crossing to Middle Black Clough waterfall + return same route.
read hereCrowden is best reached by your own transport since there are limited options for public transport. There is a First Group bus service that goes along the road so could drop you off at the start. The bus services are minimal at the moment so you’d need to research beforehand.
Crowden car park, Woodhead Road, Glossop, SK13 1HZ – Google pin (Please note due to the remote area the postcode might not take you to the exact location – we recommend using the Google pin for directions).
The Crowden car park is a small free car park, but it’s not too popular so you shouldn’t find a problem getting a space.
There are no public toilets
There are no options at Crowden at the moment. Previous Crowden Campsite had a small shop but this has been closed since March and plans to re-open in 2021.

The maps for the walks from Crowden and surrounding area is the Ordnance Survey OL1 – Peak District (Dark Peak Area). Check prices here with Ordnance Survey or Amazon. If you’re hiking in all weathers the Active OS maps are good to have.
